Company

Twenty one years of awkward part numbers.

Elite Access was started by two former power station engineers who were tired of being told a part no longer existed. The company still runs on that answer being unacceptable.

The short version

We exist because the answer was no.

In 2003, a Dutch hydro station lost a wicket gate bushing set on a unit commissioned in 1968. The manufacturer had been sold twice and quoted seven months. Two of their engineers found the original bronze pattern in a foundry archive in Sheffield and had a set cast in eleven days. That job became the company.

  • 2004

    Rotterdam

Founded with three people and a rented unit in Waalhaven. First year revenue came entirely from Dutch and German hydro plant.

  • 2008

    First bonded warehouse

Customs bonded status granted, which let us hold stock for clients across the EU without duty drag. Stock policy has been the backbone of the business ever since.

  • 2011

    Rotating plant desk

Gas and steam turbine work added after a run of hot gas path jobs. The obsolescence register started here, on a spreadsheet nobody was allowed to delete.

  • 2014

    Houston

North American operation opened to serve Gulf Coast rotating plant and to shorten freight on the Americas hydro fleet.

  • 2017

    ISO 13485

Certified for medical devices after two years supplying hospital estates informally. The clinical desk now runs to its own quality system.

  • 2019

    Singapore

Asia Pacific hub opened alongside the port equipment desk, built around ship to shore gantries and terminal plant.

  • 2022

    Lifting and heavy plant

Formalised as its own sector after years of ad hoc crane work. EN 1090 EXC3 accreditation followed for load bearing fabrication.

  • 2025

    21,400 line items

Our largest year. Median call to airway bill fell to nine hours across all sectors, including build to order.

Where we are

Three regions, six bonded warehouses.

Each region carries its own stock, its own customs brokerage and its own duty desk, so an outage in Manila is not waiting on somebody to wake up in Europe.

Accreditation

What we are certified to do.

Certificates are available on request and travel with the relevant orders. Scope statements are published in full, not summarised, because scope is where these things usually go wrong.

ISO 9001:2015

Company wide quality management, covering sourcing, manufacture, inspection and dispatch.

Medical

ISO 13485

Medical device supply and distribution, with device files issued under EU MDR 2017/745.

Structural

EN 1090 EXC3

Load bearing steel fabrication with welder qualification, weld procedure records and NDT.

Aviation

AS9120B

Distribution of aerospace grade components, including traceable rotating parts.

Material

Material certification as standard, with third party witness certification on request.

Lifting

FEM 1.001

Crane component classification and duty group records on all lifting supply.

Working with us

We would rather lose the job than miss the date.

If we cannot hold a lead time we will say so on the quote, and usually tell you who can. That has cost us work. It is also why most of our clients have been with us for more than five years.
